Missing properties are errors, not defaults

    [2026-08-07] · src —

    • elisp

orrery-model--prop! signals an error naming the offending panel or item when a required property is absent, following the same rule as the home-manager config next door.

    Why

A silent default renders a plausible-looking dashboard that is quietly wrong, and you find out weeks later. A build that refuses to run tells you now.

The build takes its clock as an argument

    [2026-08-07] · src —

    • elisp
    • testing

orrery-build-ir receives generated-at rather than calling current-time. Only orrery-build-batch reads the clock.

    Why

A function that reads the clock cannot be compared against a stored expectation. Passing the timestamp in is what makes make golden possible at all, and golden comparison is the regression net behind every future parser change.

Orrery core build landed: model and feed to IR to two renderers

    [2026-08-07] · src this repository

    • orrery
    • elisp

Six Elisp files under build/: orrery-model.el reads the hand-authored registry, orrery-feed.el merges agent fragments, orrery-ir.el produces and validates dist/ir.json, and two renderers turn that same IR into an Org digest and a standalone page.

    Why

The renderers never read Org and the parsers never emit HTML, so a third output target costs one new file and no changes to anything upstream.
